A beam is a structural element that primarily resists loads applied laterally to the beam’s axis. The loads applied to the beam result in reaction forces at the beam’s support points.

Beams are characterized by their manner of support, profile (shape of cross-section), length, and their material , most common length available is between 10 meters to 13 meters and used for manufacturing of truck-trailers, EOT cranes and its Gantry, ship building, factory sheds, conveyors, boilers, agricultural equipment, bridges, machine bases, platforms and many more engineering industries. I- and H- beams are widely used in the construction industry to provide support for buildings and load-bearing walls. They are available in a variety of standard sizes and selected based on the applied load for the required application. I-beams may be used both as beams and as columns.
